At 0843 Lehigh County Radio dispatcher M. Nester tones out Whitehall's Fullerton and West Catasauqua stations for a reported structure fire at 1275 Basswood Lane in the southwest section of the township. Police arrive and report a working fire and request fire units to "expedite." Chief 35 (R. Benner) arrives and transmits a "working fire." He has a three-story Middle-of-Row (MOR) with a fire in the garage on the 1st level. Chief 35 special-calls Squirt 3.

Engine 1 arrives and stretches in handline in the front door to the interior garage door and attacks a small fire in the garage. Quick work makes for a Quick knockdown. Crews saw open a doorway in the garage door and vent. A second crew stretches a dry handline to the second floor to check for extension. Fire was out and under control within minutes.

Engines 1,2,12, squirt 3, Ladder 6 and rescue 8 work the scene. Deputy Schafer and Deputy Shambo also assist Chief Benner.
