Using a Personal Escape System for Victim Rescue

This video demonstrates how a Personal Escape/Safety System can be used to rescue a victim - Whether the victim is a Civilian or a fellow Firefighter. It's important to note that Escape Systems are designed for a single use/single load application. The techniques shown in this video are meant to be used as a last resort to save lives when no other options are available.

One question that I have received many times is - "How much of a load can the RESCUE FF support when extracting a VICTIM?"

To truly answer the question you have to see for your self, but I weigh 175lbs. and have lowered out Firefighters that were over 270lbs. It comes down to the type of DCD you’re using and proper body positioning.
