U-Crest 9-2 on scene 2 story dwelling with smoke showing. Upon further investigation has a basement fire. Crews make entry with 2 lines. Intensified heat and clutter in basement Command pulls all crews out for Defensive Attack. 1 FF was taken to hospital after going down while in basement. Heavy fire conditions extends into 1st & 2nd floors. 1 Dog was rescued but expired on scene a short time later.
