Tonawanda Firefighters responded early this morning for a District 1 Class 1 alarm of fire for a bedroom fire on Tonawanda St with a report of a victim trapped. River Road 9-2 went on location reporting a victim trapped in an upstairs bedroom and further reported heavy fire conditions. Command reported a 2 story dwelling with heavy fire on the 1st & 2nd floors on the B & C sides.Suppression reported a 2nd floor collapse and command ordered all crews out of the building for defensive operations. Companies on location were Sheridan Park, Brighton, Ellwood, Kenilworth, River Road, Kenmore, Grand Island (FAST) & City of Tonawanda (FAST). The fire was under control in 92 minutes. The cause is under investigation & 1 victim was found deceased in a 2nd floor bedroom
