True in order to complain one should be part of the solution and joining would go a long way towards a rectification of this situation. However they do pay taxes to provide equipment and the elected officials need to pull their sox up and repair this problem.
Is this a case of too many t shirt firefighters who don't show up when needed ,or, are there no daytime firefighters available, in which case, if they can't provide them then the department needs to cease to exist which it already appers to have done.

Sorry, but if they don't like it they can join and become a volunteer firefighter instead of standing there complaining. Or pay more taxes and have a full time paid department.
