Multiple RV and camper fire in a storage yard. R45 was first due without any additional resources for about 6-7 minutes. Closest available suppression unit was Quint 47 responding from out of zone. Several 1 3/4" suppression lines were initially deployed to attempt to extinguish fire and protect boat exposures. Eventually the Quint deployed the ladder nozzle and suppressed the fire.

I'm from the UK, never been on a the fire-ground in the US but I was astounded that the first appliance in was a Rescue Truck not a pump, how does that happen? How come it took so long to get water on the fire? And what was with that firefighter, he behaved like a 10 year old playing "lets be a fireman". If he was on my crew I'd be seriously concerned.
Maybe you guys out there can enlighten me, but is it common for a firefighter to be using non-issue equipment like this? In the UK, if it had even occured to him to use a helmet cam, he'd have been told to get rid of it before he even started on his shift. Uniform is uniform and hanging bells & whistles on to just aint allowed.

I think the biggest concern of these helmet Cams, are the FF's are more interested in making a movie, that they're forgetting to do the jobs they were trained to do. This FF, was told numerous times to protect the "Boat" as an exposer, instead, he continuously wanted to put the wet stuff on the red stuff. Not to mention, he also put himself in harms way, over and over, both of these burning RV's have at least two LPG bottles, the tires and shocks were still intact, if any of those were to blow, he could've taken the blunt of the shock. And for what, those were totaled as soon as the ignited, there was 100K lost, from the time there was any fire inside.... But the important part was, he got the footage for YouTube.... Life Be Damned....

The guy with the helmet cam must be new, every time he shut the hand line down it would continue to burn. If you have a continuous water supply extinguish, and continue to extinguish.#2 never put your self behind the fire, protect exposures.
