At 21:35 Allentown transmitted a house fire for box 2328 (10th & Washington) 732 N. 10th Street sending Engines 9, 4, 6, truck 2 and Battalion 3 (G. Scheirer). Battalion 3 rounds the corner off of Tilghman to find heavy smoke in the street. BC 3 transmits a working fire.

Engine 9 grabs the hydrant right in front of the fire building. The crowds are yelling that someone is trapped in the fire and crews immediately conduct searches. They come up negative.

With heavy smoke and the seat of the fire not known, BC 3 strikes the 2nd alarm sending his way Engines 10, 13, 14, Air 1 and Chief 40 (R. Scheirer).

The bulk of the fire was contained to the porch roofs and exterior walls of 730, 732 and 734 N. 10th Street.

Volunteer companies from Lehigh County move-up and cover city companies.
