As I stated somewhere else on here...I used to be a flight attendant--and I can't begin to tell you how many different ways this scenario could have played out...none of which would have resulted in a positive outcome. If he'd dropped just one of those wingtips during splashdown....that aircraft would have cartwheeled its way down the river, breaking up in the process. Anyone have ANY idea how tough it is to keep an aircraft that size in control with a deadstick (no power)?? It's a Herculean task. That landing looks like a runway landing, albeit a runway covered in a LOT of water.

Thank GOD everbody made it. What better example of the NEED TO TRAIN. Just like in the fire service, every thing goes to *ell in a hand bag very quickly. No time to even say why me? That is when what we have drilled on become second life saving nature. I will bey the first stop those folks we saw getting on the ferry was the washroom to change what we all know needed changing. Be safe out there...."We find them hot and leave them wet"
