Early morning 2nd alarm fire. 2-story duplex with heavy fire venting from the 1st floor on arrival. Squirt 3 arrives bringing in its own water supply and stretches a 1 3/4 hand line to side 4 and makes an attack through a window mid-way down to stop the fire from spreading.

Engine 13 arrives and stretches another 1 3/4" hand line from Squirt 3. As other engine companies arrive, they commence an attack through the front door, at which time the bulk of the fire was knocked down.

Truck crews Vent-Entered and Searched. All searches came up negative.

Three ground ladders were set-up on side 4. Asst. Chief Hanzl (1A) was operations officer and Chief of Department Robert Benner (car 35) was incident command.

The fire was quickly brought under control.

5 Engines, 2 trucks and the rescue were in-service with 3 L/S/O.
