Philadelphia 4th alarm Building Fire
Around 14:00 hrs box 1662 was transmitted for 34th and Allegheny - fire reported 34th and Indiana Ave at the Sun Chemical Company for a building. Battalion 8 arrives and has a one-story 80 x 440 brick building with heavy fire across the street from the chemical plant. Over 130 firefighters battled the blaze and extreme weather, temperatures reached over 95 degrees. The fire burned out of control for over two hours. Firefighters remained on the scene well into the evening dousing hot spots.
