Obviously these guys are "Proud" that they got the fire out and this is why they posted the video, because they thought that nothing was done wrong. But I'm in agreement with everyone else, if the leaders of that FD watched the video and were any kind of leaders that are trained, they would hopefully shake their heads at all of the things that were really done unsafely and fix the problem. If not maybe these guys will take the hint from all of us!

That may be, but at least they're willing to put it on. There's a shortage of volunteers here in MS that want to do more than socialize. Still, lack of proper training appears to be evident. Or a lack of willingness to go inside. Either by incident command, or the firefighters themselves.

Nothing more than just civilians that know how to put on fire gear.

I sure hope the homeowner doesn't see this video.

Exactly my point. It is very obvious from the video of the lack of training that is present amongst the personnel on scene. I counted multiple different times that either a firefighter placed himself in a dangerous situation either through tactics or PPE as well as strategies that simply spread the fire throughout the structure. I am not convinced that because you are volunteer it gives you an excuse for not being trained. The reality is fire does not care whether or not you get a check or not so regardless of your status you have to have some training to protect yourself. I don't believe from watching the video that this group has taken any type of training that would promote safe and efficient operations. To me that makes it much too painful and depressing to watch.

So many things done wrong, and that is just what's on video. Fogging through the roof vent, negative, never never never, probably pushed the fire in every nook and cranny it could find. No SCBAs on majority of personel. Looked like a lack of interior fire fighters, along with a lack of water supply and personel. Bustin out windows that looked as if they didn't need it, while wearing no gear I might add. I'm not bashing the fire fighters on this fire, i'm sure they were doing what they were told or what they thought was right. It just goes to show what a lack of training looks like. This is obviously a pretty rural department with limited manpower and eguipment and kudos to the guys for putting out the fire, but the leaders in this organization need to look at this and make some changes big time. Without mistakes we never learn.

Forgive me for asking but I don't understand Drew and Roy's comments. What are you referring to when you say More and More? And is it painful to watch because it was a new residence on fire, or for some other reason? Thanks. My sympathies to the owner by the way, and I'm glad no firefighters were hurt.

Yes Drew it was. More and more it seems to be the norm. and people feel departments are being unfairly knocked.
