A fire allegedly set by an ex-boyfriend of the occupant tore through a large occupied apartment building in Manheim Township Lancaster County on April 25, 2010 shortly before dawn. Crews from many area fire companies initially conducted an interior attack but were forced to leave the structure. A nearby unrelated water main break caused a loss of almost all hydrant pressure and crews were forced to call for tankers to supply the water to continue the attack. Police arrested the alleged arsonist shortly after the fire and he is awaiting trial. The home was declared unsafe and was torn down after the fire.
