On Feb 1,2010, the Mahwah,nj Fire Department (bergen county) companies 1,2 and 3 responded to 441 Franklin Turnpike for a reported structure fire. First in Tower 2 followed by Engine 115 reported fire burning behind the wall near the sink. Fire finally broke out after crews opened up the walls. The fire had started to roll above them and was extending to the ceiling or attic area. Engine 222 hit a hydrant and supplied Engine 115 and Tower 2. The fire was quickly knocked down. Tanker 4 was requested for additional manpower. Ramsey fd supplied a FAST (tower and pumper for manpower along with an ambulance). While Mahwah firemen were operating on Franklin Turnpike tones went in for a reported dryer fire at the Super 8 motel on Route 17. Mahwah company 5, tanker 4, rescue 1, utility pick up, Ramsey engine and a wyckoff Tower was dispatched to respond.
