LAFD / Rubbish, Power Pole, Garage & House Fire / "Old" SoLA

firelensman - 8-2-2017 LAFD Engine 14 first on scene at East 42nd Place & Wadsworth Avenue in "Old South Central" reported fire showing down an alley. The fire involved rubbish, a power utility pole and a garage that spread to a two story structure to the west. Firefighters quickly laid hoselines and attacked the fire from several sides. The main bulk of fire was knocked down in 40 minutes. Damage was extensive and Firefighters remained overhauling the scene for the next 2 hours. One person was transported from the scene complaining of a minor injury. The cause of the fiery late night blaze is under investigation. - MNR -
