LAFD Dog Rescue
Los Angeles Firefighters responded this afternoon to assist with a dog rescue in the Los Angeles river. Firefighters were on scene for more than an hour when the decision was made to lower a rescuer from a helicopter to rescue the dog. While making the rescue, firefighter Joe St. Georges was bitten. He was transported by helicopter to an area hospital and has since been released.
