Helmet Cameras from Firefighters T Forsythe and P Pittsley. On 6/27/10 at approximately 0210 hours Mineral County 911 dispatched Box Area 33-8 for a Commercial Business Fire at the Polish Pines Complex. Keyser PD arrived on the scene and reported a working fire in the rear of the business. Chief 33 (Paitsel) arrived on the scene and reported Heavy Smoke and Fire coming from the Charlie Side of the Building. Chief 33 established the polish pines command. The initial box assignment included Company 33, 38, ER 23, ER 39, Truck 24, Squad 22 (RIT) and EMS 57. Chief 33 requested an additional Truck, bringing Tower 38. Engine 33-13 arrived on the scene and established a water supply on side A. Truck 33 reported to Side A and Tower 38 reported to Side C. Command called for additional units to the scene, bringing Engine Tanker 22, Tanker 44, Tanker 39, and Tanker 140. Engine Tanker 22 responded with 6 volunteers and Lt. Whetstone. Squad 22 responded for RIT. Engine Tanker 22 arrived on the scene and was assigned to supply Truck 33. ET 22's crew also pulled a portable deck gun to the front of the building along with an attack line to the front of the stores. Squad 22 set up for RIT on Side A. The Squad crew through ladders to the building and controlled the utilities. Truck 24 reported to Side A and began to Trench Cut the Roof on the North Side of the Building. At 02:30 hours, a partial structural collapse injured (one) firefighter and the evacuation tones were sounded. The injured firefighter was transported to the hospital by ambulance shortly after. Command requested additional units, ER 140 to the scene from Station 38, Sq 37 (RIT), Engine 24, Tanker 36, ET 19, and Ambulance 39. Air 35 was called to the scene however had problems with the Air System. Engine/Air 25-13 was requested to the scene to fill the Air assignment. The fire started in the rear of the Polish Pines Restaurant and spread through several buildings through the common attic space. Units were on the scene for several hours bringing the blaze under control. Units on the scene were : Engine 33-13, 33-15, Truck 33, Squad 33, Tanker 33, Chief 33, Engine Tanker 38, Tower 38, Engine Rescue 23, Squad 23, Engine Rescue 39, Tanker 39, Engine Tanker 22, Squad 22, Truck 24, Engine 24-11, Engine Tanker 44, Engine Rescue 140, Tanker 140, Tanker 36, Engine Tanker 19, Squad 37, Air 35, Engine/Air 25-13, EMS 57 and EMS 39. Units that were on stand by were : Engine Tanker 200 at Station 38, Engine 113 at Station 44, Engine Tanker 150 at Station 140, and Engine 34 at Station 39.
