October 11, 2009. GFD was toned out at 10:10 for a reported still alarm at 2508 Pennsylvania, police were on the scene reporting gasoline had been poured around a house and ignited. On arrival Batallion 4 advised of a working fire in a frame 25x40 1.5 story house. Crews from Engines 4 and 12 pulled lines and made an aggressive interior and exterior attack. The fire was bought under control within 30 minutes. WHile crews were working a second still alarm came in at 10:30. This fire was on the other side of town in the area of 25th and Hobart Steet. Truck 13 found a working house fire at 6421 west 23rd ave and advanced their line through the front door. Due to the fact they only carry 250 gallons of water the first engine in grabbed a hydrant and stretched their line. Crews made an aggressive interior attack, but the fire was too far advanced and began to blow through the roof. The fire was brought under control after about 30 minutes. Arson investigators were on scene of both fires working on cause and origin.
