Fire Levels large home in Allentown, PA

The box was transmitted around 0415 hours for 2949 Allen Street with a report of a house fire. Engines 10, 4, 9, Ladder 1 and Battalion 2 (Lanshe) fill out the box. On arrival, engine 10 reports a working fire in a large S/F/D and blitzed the fire with their deck gun. BC 2 arrives and strikes the second alarm. Engines 6, 11, 14 and Air 1 respond. With heavy fire throughout the house, Lanshe special calls for Ladder 2.

The large 5,200 square foot home with 6 bedrooms and 7 baths was vacant and appeared to be undergoing renovations. The house was completely destroyed in the fire and was demolished by mid-day Saturday by a wrecking crew.

The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshall's office and State Police.
