7:30AM: The FDNY is on the scene of a fire in a private home on East 7th Street between Cortelyou Road and Avenue C. They quickly called for a second alarm, and moments later a third alarm - due to the fire spreading to the next-door apartment building.

It is unknown if everyone made it out safely.

UPDATE 8:10AM: The fire has been knocked down, and placed under control. There were initial reports of children trapped inside the home, but turned out to be untrue. All occupants are accounted for, and only one very minor injury has been reported.
