Hey stone... watch the video very very carefully. For one the school bus was not stopped unloading kids. It was moving and then stopped to yield for the fire truck. Also another thought is that every state law is different regarding stopping for red lights and stop signs. In south Carolina I know for a fact that the law states emergency vehicles do not have to completely stop for red lights and stop signs, rather they just have to slow down slightly and make sure traffic is clear both ways. I just noticed that command showed up on scene and took command right from the get go. No walk around or consulting with whoever was on scene. But that goes back to department SOP's and SOG's.

The driver of this Engine as well as the officer should both face diciplinary action for running multiple red lights, through stop signs, and passing a school bus. We all want to fight the fire but we must get there safely first!

It sounded like the battalion pulled up without getting with the first person that took comand pr doing a 360 for herself. She was calling a defensive attack on whast she saw on 1/2 of the house. Have had the same thing happen here. Command needs to do a 360 and get with the previous onscene commander before automatically taking command.

If you watch the Ladder 1 helmet cam from S. Roxboro St you will see. There was confusion on the Batt side but it all worked out. Looked worst from the outside than it was.

Was it offensive or defensive? That seemed to be not too clear. The Battalion called defensive on arrival, but had crews inside. Just wondering.
