ONSCENE TV - 12.24.2019 | 11:58 PM | DOWNEY - A home was damaged after a fire broke out in the living room area minutes before Christmas day, late Tuesday.

Authorities responded to reports of a residential fire at a hoe in the 9000 block of Chaney Avenue at 11:58 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a detached single-story home with heavy fire shooting out of the front door.

Firefighters initiated an aggressive fire attack and worked to contain the fire to the living room in under 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The American Red Cross is responding to the scene to assist several displaced residents.
