From You Tube, On Saturday May 9th 2009, Detroit 8th Battalion companies responded to a reported commercial building fire at 13300 Joseph Campau & E Davison. While enroute E56 reported smoke showing and they would be stretching. Upon arrival E56 stretch on this vacant 250 X 150 2 story commercial building. Upon arrival of Chief 8 he reported a doubtful requested an extra Engine, Platform & Squad above the box alarm assignment. Upon building size up and building conditions Chief 8 requested a 2nd Alarm and an extra Engine and Truck above the 2nd alarm. Companies operated defensively at this scene. Companies operated for aprox. 6 hours with relief companies ordered. Engines 56/23/35/60/44/39/46/17/5 Ladders 30/6/16/18 Squad 3/5 Chief 8/5 Cars 203 & 201 responded to this alarm. Fire was in the basement of the building and burned through the building.
