Cumberland (RI) Christmas Fire
3 families were left homeless after fire ripped through this 3 decker shortly after 4am on Christmas morning, Dec 25, 2010 on High St.
As firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy fire venting from the 1st floor, rapidly extending to the upper floors. A 2nd alarm was quickly sounded and an aggressive interior attack was initiated but it was no match for the intense flames.
Crews were forced to evacuate and fight the blaze from the exterior. It took over 2 hours to bring the fire under control.
