Crews pulled two women from Contra Costa blaze
CONCORD, Calif. (AP) — Contra Costa firefighters have rescued two women from a burning home in Concord. The one-alarm fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. Friday. Contra Costa Fire District Battalion Chief Terry Buck said Concord police could hear people inside but couldn't get in because of heavy smoke.
The initial call came in at 0130 hours and was for an odor investigation. When crews arrived, smoke was showing from the structure and police on the scene were reporting that two occupants were inside. Making their way in, firefighters were able to remove one woman who was found in the hallway. Helmet camera footage captures the rescue of a elderly woman confined to her bed.
