City of Easton Tire Fire 12-28-10
City of Easton, PA-- Easton firefighters were called out to the area of Lynn Street and Lehigh Drive this afternoon for the reported brush fire. Arriving firefighters made entry into the Easton Recycling Center to find a pile of tires burning. Easton's engine laid into fight the fire only to get burned with a dead hydrant. Crews located a second plug from an adjacent property and hand jacked hose to fight the growing fire. Firefighters went to work applying foam to the fire and called in heavy equipment to tear the pile apart.
