Christening the "343" at Eastern Shipyard
Here is the launch of the newest firefighting boat for the FDNY, the "343". It uses steel from the World Trade Center and is named the "343" for the number of FDNY firefighters and EMTs lost at the World Trade Center. It was built by Eastern Shipyards in Panama City and launched this morning.
