THIS FIRE BROKE OUT ON A HOT SUMMER NIGHT INSIDE A CANDEL FACTORY ON CHICAGO'S
SOUTH SIDE. THE FACTORY WAS VERY LARGE,500X100 / TWO STORY AND RAN ALONG
RAISED RAILROAD TRACKS,WHICH BLOCKEED OFF THE ONE SIDE OF THE BUILDING.
NIGHT WORKERS WERE UNLOADING A TANKER CAR OF IT'S CHEMICAL USED IN
MAKING THE CANDELS. AS THEY WERE DOING THIS THE RUBBER HOSE USED TO
TO UNLOAD THE CHEMICAL BROKE LOSE FROM IT'S CONNECTION AND A FIRE
BROKE OUT,SPREADING FAST THEU THE FACTORY.THE WORKERS WERE ABLE
TO GET OUT SAFELY,BUT BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED,
THE ENTIRE BUILDING WAS INVOLVED. THE FIRE WENT TO A 5-11 ALARM.
