Shortly before 930 p.m. Monday, May 17, Baltimore County, MD fire units were alerted to respond to a reported apartment fire at 5918 Franklin Avenue in the Westview area (Fire Box 13-2). While units were enroute, dispatch advised there were possibly people trapped, and upgraded to a Fire Rescue box, and also alerted firefighters that Baltimore County Police Second Precinct units were on scene with smoke and fire showing from the top-floor of a 3-story garden style apartment building. BCoFD Station 13 (Westview career) units arrived with fire showing and requested the Working Fire Dispatch, which brought additional resources to the scene. Firefighters were able to get a quick knock on the fire and confine it mostly to the apartment of origin. Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company crews pulled two dogs from the building and reunited them with their owner.
