Aberdeen American News. Fire destroyed a home early Wednesday afternoon at 716 S. Eighth St. in Aberdeen.
The house was occupied by four people. None of them was hurt, but the family cat, Chapstick, was missing.
Home at the time were Leighann Wike, her husband Adam Godel and two children, Kalen, 4, and Skyler, 2. A third son, Aden, 6, was in school.
The family has lived in the house for four years. Wike said the four of them were taking a nap when the fire started. She thought it started in the couch.
The house contained all of our dreams, Wike said. We were together for eight years.
The fire began at about 12:30 p.m.
