On Route 22 east bound, in morning rush hour traffic on Feb 18th 2008, a tractor trailer driver not paying attention drives into stopped traffic and takes out 5 cars / SUV's and an Emergency Service Patrol vehicle from PennDOT. The PennDOT truck is used to assist at accident scenes and clear the highway to keep traffic flowing. It's also used to help out stranded motorist with flats, break downs and what not. The accident occurred between the Cedar Crest Blvd and 15th Street exits. Fortunately, no one was killed in the crash that closed the East bound lanes for over 3 hours.
