Engine 99 is a program set up in Central Broome County to help with staffing levels on any weekday one of the seven volunteer departments can put a engine in serve for the day that is staffed with at least four interior firefighters. When they are in service they run as engine 99 for the day, and respond to any fire calls in central broome to help the other departments out with more ff responding with an engine
