These firefighters blast away at a suicide jumper hoping to keep him from jumping however, his persistence finally pays off and he leaps from the building only to land safely in an air cushion below.

I agree, that is one unusual way, maybe if they were more straight on, but still never saw or heard of anyone doing that.
