Part 1 or 3 - The patient has been transported by ambulance from the accident scene to a location chosen as a landing zone for the helicopter. Prior to moving the patient to the helicopter, safety checks for both responders, the patient and the gurney are made to ensure that nothing loose flies into the rotor blades or engine air intake.
