What ever they were going in the garage for ALL firefighters at that scene SHOULD have had their SCBA's on and the EMS person should not have been involved up at the fire.If something would have happened to anyone at that scene we rely on EMS being there to help.

YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME THIS IS TOTAL SAFETY DISREGARD IN ITS FULLEST WHEN DOING ENTRY IN A WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE. WHERE IS FIREFIGHTER'S SAFETY TAKEN IN TO EFFECT, WHERE IS THE SECOND LINE, WHERE IS RIT AT, THE FIRE IS WAY TO ADVANCE FOR JUST 2 FIREFIGHTERS ON A MISSION BY THEMSELVES. EMS NEEDS TO BE STAGED NOT RUNNING AROUND, GOOD TRAINING VIDEO TO SHOW WHAT NOT TO DO. I VIEWED X1 TO COMMENT.............

I've read a lot of comments regarding this video. Some correct & many incorrect. I was the cameraman of this footage. If you have any questions...please ask away! I will NOT divulge the names of the people or FD involved as it would serve no point at all. This footage has been seen Nationwide since 1991. Please learn from it rather than criticize the actions taken or not taken. I look forward to your questions.

1. I don't know the exact number of F/F as I was focused on shooting the tape, not watching when help arrived...initially, I saw 1 on the pump, 2 inside, the Chief, a couple of probies (bright yellow gear) & a few in the back yard.
2. RITs weren't around back then. There was talk about it but most depts didn't have them, esp. small vollie cos.

3. I heard the 1st disp. at my home 5 mi. away, immed. drove there & you see the tape from the beginning. Addtl. tape shows 1 injury & front & rear of house.
4. 1st F/F out- 3rd degree burns left hand & smoke. 2nd F/F 2nd deg, burns to ears from what I heard.
5. SP report stated wires melting caused door to drop. As a former Inv., it is apparent when Mutual Aid tomes are activated the door comes down.

Went over to youtube and found the video. Guess its a video from 1991. There are comments from people that were there and details on what happened.

Wow they were some lucky guys. You could hear the low air bells and it looked like their masks were off when they came out the door. This is why we need RIT on every structure fire.

I think they were saying "Don,t worry about the dogs." I ran it back a couple of times and i'm pretty sure thats what they were saying. As for the garage door they should have been fixed open as soon as the crew went in.
