Cops Shoot Innocent Family Dog- Mistaken Identity

Troopers wrongly pull over a family for armed robbery.

Their family dog then jumps out of the car and the police kill it.

The family are distraught it later transpires that their wasn't even a robbery and the police had got their wires crossed.

unbelievable,id have more than there badges,,,id have a assault charge on an officer,,but im here to tell ya he would feel it when i was done with him

I'm hearing both of ya', but I reckon we'd all act differently udner the same circumstances.

There's a boatload of adrenalin flying around during all of this. When do you realise that the family pet is not so friendly? When he's latched onto your arm?

I think it's one of those split second decisions that Police are oftne forced to make....

Who should be held accountible? The officer was cleared. This isn't right. If some police officer shot my dog (and since I don't believe in vigalante justice...most of the time) i would want someone's badge!

I reckon I could understand how easily this could happen.

Looking at it objectively, the cops beleive they've got armed robbers- they deploy all the necessary tactics and response for such an incident and in the heat of the moment and with the adrenalin pumping, shoot the dog.

Is it right? No. Did they stuff up? Yes. But I still believe the circumstances called for whatever they felt was needed....
