- Why I Joined Fire/EMS
- my family has been in the fire service for longer than i've been alive, my grandfather is a founding member of the Pinecreek Volunteer fire Company, my dad is a firefighter, past chief of brookville fire company, and now serving as the EMA director for the boro of brookville, my brother is a firefighter in brookville and that is were i got my start 7 years ago as a volunteer, after meeting my now husband i moved to winburne where he was serving as the 24 year old fire chief, we are still part of that company today, both line officers and acting as president and vice president. Also until i meet one younger, i think my 3 year old son is the biggest fire wacker on earth he gets way to excited when the pager goes off and when he sees a fire truck of any kind.
- Why I Love Fire/EMS
- being able to say helping those in their time of need, we are god's angels on earth.
- Top Issues Facing Responders:
- manpower in the volunteer companies, and financial problems, i know our company is probably like many out there, small daylight crews, and barely getting by on the money that we make on fundraisers and zero tax dollars, hoping for the big grant money to come through so that we can get new, updated equipment.
