Started out at Roaring River Fire Dept. Went and got my EMT. A friend got me a job with NuCare Carolina and have been there for 2 and a half years. Currently enrolled at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College working on my paramedic.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

Enjoy the rush. My dad was a FF/1st responder and my mom is a nurse. Her brother and 1st cousin were also FF/1st responders. Just kinda grew up in it.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

The rush you get with good calls and the feeling after a save.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

LACK OF FUNDING!!!!!!!!!!!! The public also doesn't understand the reason we bill them for ambulance rides is to provide them with the services that we do. People also misunderstand that we are a taxi service. Please don't dial 911 when you stub your toe and have family that can take you to the hospital.
