Winslow Township Fire Department - 15 years of service
My Training:
extensive training in size up, firefighting, incident command, tactics and strategies, auto extrication, building construction, and hazardous materials decontamination operations
About Me:
I take fire fighting very seriously. I am very proud to be chief of the firefighters of the Hammonton Fire Department. They are aggressive and well trained. Their "can - do " attitude never seems to amaze me. we are a department consisting of two companies station #1 and station #2. we cover an area of approximately 43 square miles and a population in excess of 14,000. we answer roughly 400 calls per year and we're still 100 per cent volunteer. when i'm not playing chief i like to spend time with family and friends. i also have alot of hobbies to keep me busy.
in high school my parents home was gutted by fire. we lost all memories of our childhood. thankfully no one was home when the fire occurred. but after i graduated high school i decided to join the fire service. i felt that if i could help someone escape going through what we went through it would be worth the sacrifice. now 25 years later i still feel the same way
Why I Love Fire/EMS
the unselfishness of volunteers
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Lack of Volunteerism in today's society,- lack of knowledge, of the workings of the fire department,by local government officials and budget /manpower cuts.
Thanks for "friending" me. I haven't been active on the site for a while. I had to give up firefighting and have been concentrating on recreating my life, then ended up in the hospital before Christmas. I appreciate your comment on my profile pic. It is definitely one of my favorites.
