Why I Joined Fire/EMS
All my life I have wanted to help people that were hurt or needed help, and when I was a little boy I lived next to a Firefighter, he would take me down to the Fire House and show me those big red shiny Fire Trucks. I would watch the Firefighters slide down the brass fire poles, jump into their gear, and then on to the trucks and race out of the station.
It was my dream that one day I would do the same job. I joined our Fire Department when I was 18, and now 28 years later, I can proudly say I lived my dream, and served my Community for those 28 years, until because of an injury I had to hang up my Helmet and retire. I was a EMT, a Fire Instructor, An Incident Safety Officer, I was made Firefighter
of The Year twice in my years of Service, and many other awards. I miss it everyday, the excitement of running into a burning building, driving those big trucks, helping save a life.
The guys, and gals I served with for all those years,if I could still do the job I would be there. I thank God for giving me the Gift of helping those who were hurt, and dying, and I will never forget that I got to Live My Dream As A Firefighter.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I Loved To Help People ! and to Serve my Community
