My Training:
Air Force, Mass Fire Academy, TN Valley Authority Fire Training Center (industrial FF),
About Me:
Like to be center of attention. I am 6 ft 8 in tall and like that ppl look up to me. After 35 years of firefighting, I still get nervous going in. When I do not, it will be time to quit. Scared sharpens awareness. Do not fear fire, respect it.
As a child I wanted to be a stuntman. When I joined the Air Force at 17 yrs old, firefighter was the closest thing they had.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I am a rush junkie and this gives me the opportunity to get a rush legally and get paid for helping my community.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Younger firefighters are not trained in the city and rural sector well enough. Training in this line of work comes by doing. You do not get a chance to train and extinguish fires quickly at the same time.
