About Me:
I volunteer for KCFD 44, Station 97. I work three to four months out of the year as a firefighter for the Department of Natural Resources suppressing wildfires and maintaining wildfire suppression resources such as roads and water tanks. It is the best job I've had to date. I care for my brother as an independent provider working through the Department of Social Health Services. I'm glad I can do it, better me than a stranger. At the moment I'm taking a very relaxed approach towards beginning my career in the fire service. I'm 23 years of age and I have a lot of time ahead of me.

Independent Provider / Warehouse

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I joined in search of a challenge and a better understanding of what a firefighter does. I felt there was no better way to get a feel for the occupation than to volunteer my time doing it.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love it becuase it offers me the privilege to help people. The privilege to utilize to the best of my abilities the training I've been put through to mitigate and better someones really bad day. People love firefighters because they have built an enormous amount of trust from the communities they serve, and it's that trust and do-good nature that I am very proud to maintain and continue building upon.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Traffic and responding safety. Aside from that I'm not really sure. That's the very reason I joined FFN, to gain better perspective on firefighting outside my own department.
