About Me:

I tested and was accepted for Sunnyside City and Yakima County Fire District 5 in Decemeber 2001. I graduated from redcruit school April 2002. I became an EMT-B in the spring of 2003. I tested for a firefighter/mechanic position with Yakima County Fire District 5 in late June/early July 2006 and was hired with a start date of August 1st 2006. I became a volunteer of Zillah City Fire Department in August 2006.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

A friend of mine kept bothering me about being a volunteer. I checked it out, and decided to join and here I am now.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

Helping people in their time of need, and being able to play with fire.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

In our area its volunteer recruitment. We have so many volunteers retireing and only adding on about 8 volunteers district wide. Our district currently has 220 volunteers out of 16 stations with 16 career firefighters.
