I retired from the fire dept. with a disability in 1981. I had worked thirteen years in Engine 46 in the Bronx and Engine318 in Coney Island. I then worked as a fire safety director for Verizon until 1993 when I switched over to the World Trade Center following the first bombing. I worked weekends there until 9/11.
When I was discharged from the Navy I took every Civil Service test that came up and the Fire Department was the first one that called me that I wanted.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Its exciting and fulfilling.
