Sand Lake Fire Department 32 Maple St. Sand Lake MI 49343 Firefighter/Medical First Responder: Aim currently license as a medical first responder for the town of sand lake. It is a paid on call position, which means that I respond to all medicals that we are dispatch to 24/7, I am responsible for checking pulse and blood pressures, I am certified in CPR/AED, I assist the ambulance crew what ever they need, I fill out patient information for are records and ambulance, I also respond to motor vehicle accidents do extrication when needed. Drive the ambulances when needed, Communicate with dispatch efficiently and perform all types of basic life support, Provide excellent emotional and physical care for the patient and love ones. Have excellent computer skills. As a Firefighter I have all my certificates in training of Firefighter 1 AND 2, Haze mat first responder for Operations/Awareness , Drivers training of all department apparatus, certificate in Landing Zone specialist for Aero-Med, wild land behavior s-190,CBRNE Defensive Operations -12 hr course, Unified Incident Command System - 16hr course, WMD Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders 8hr course, NIMS certified, I respond to all structure fires and grass fires. Do search and rescue. Ventilation, Hose rolling. Attend all training for fire/ rescue, Attend all monthly meetings, Attend all community events, Always keep up with all credits I need, Communicates with the public efficiently. Was nominated Firefighter of the year in 2000 .Nominated for captain twice, Help out the deputy Chief on the computer on all fire reports, Do traffic control at accident. I make at lease over 50% of all calls. Wake up all hours of the night for calls medical/fires, I am a quick learner, and always safe. Been doing this since 1999 and like what I do I just received a promotion to Lieutenant of the fire Department
