Enjoy spending time at the station
favorite season of the year is parade season, as Riverton takes pride in our trucks.
Favorite truck to ride is Riverton Tanker 34. Which is 2002 Peterbuilt with a Cat. C 15 525 HP..... 3000 gallon tank, with 3 eight inch dumps.Also features two ponds one 3000 gallon and one 1500 gallon.
Powered by the 525 horsepower is a 500gpm pump. with 2 pre connects and 2 discharges, Also has 1 6inch intake on the pump!
Tanker 34 is also equipped with a federal Q2b siren!

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I grew up in the Village of Riverton CT, part of the town of Barkhamsted!
I remember seeing my dad run out the door and across the street all the time when ever the siren would go off. It was cool to know my dad was about to become so ones hero as he took off in Riverton Engine 4.
Being that my dad was a Vol. Firefighter he would always bring me and my friends over to check out the trucks, and I remember spending a lot of my weekends cleaning the trucks for parades. I enjoyed doing this very much! I continued to do this every summer, and when I was old enough I started helping out with fundraisers and other type s of events. This helped get me some respect from other firefighters on the station, and as soon as I was old enough I joined as a Junior member! To take after my hero and true friend my father!
