Why I Joined Fire/EMS

Ever since I was a child I have always had a strong desire to serve. So growing up a block away from the fire department made the fire service an obvious choice. After losing my brother in a car accident in 2003, my desire to serve became more solidified. I wanted to be able to apply knowledge, training, and skill to help prevent someone from experiencing what I went through. After high school I sent one semester away from home, only to return and start my fire training. I haven't looked back since!
