About Me:

I was raised in Barnwell where my Grandfather was Chief of Barnwell Fire Deparment. My Father followed him and is now the Chief of the FD and now I am currently a Volunteer Firefighter for Barnwell. I began college in the fall of 2005 and joined Windy Hill Volunteer Fire Company and now live at the Fire Department while I attend Francis Marion Unviersity.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

Grandfather and father where firemen and just growing up in and around the fire house made me want to follow then in their foot steps.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

The rush and feeling when you hear the tones drop and just love doing the job.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

I believe that the top issues facing Fire/EMS serivices today is SAFETY and TRAINING. We as SC emergency service members need to develop and practice more safety in our jobs. We also do not need to allow the basic training keep us from applying ourselves to become more knowledgable and aware of the training around us.
