Why I Joined Fire/EMS

Fascinated by wildland fire behavior and enjoyed service to community.
Retired U.S.F.S., Small Town Fire Chief, Community College Instructor and now expert witness in wildland fire. And I have joined the local volunteer rural FD as a firefighter. This dept. as most volunteer dept. are in need of personnel.

The fact that the "FEDS" are seeking federal crimminal prosecution for decision errors on the fireground.
The lack of young folks willing to volunteer for their communities.
