Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I have always wanted to be part of the team helping those in need. Whether it be saving lives or property or just putting together a saftey course for the kids at school. My father was a fire fighter in the US Army and I always wanted to be a part of his experiences, once I started I never wanted out. Never have I been to tired or to busy to drop what I am doing to answer a call. I will always be a part of it, and always with my fellow brother fire fighters at Madison Township Vol. Fire Dept.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

Seeing a family together safe after a fire or seeing a child leaving the fire house happy after Shop with a fire fighter.....

Top Issues Facing Responders:

I can only comment for the Vol. side of the service, but I feel that any more it is getting harder to find those willing to do what we do as a "Volunteer". Many departments in our county answer calls with the minimum amount of fire fighters on sceen and in turn it calls for the neighboring departments to respond with them for support. By all means we do not mind offering this help. But it would be nice to see men and women take more interest in Volunteering fire their district. It is not just the fire fighting side either....we as Vol. departments spend alot of our time doing things for the public and charities and at times it is always just a few to handle all of this. I would like to see more of our younger generation getting involved with this.
