depends on where ya go. Montgomery I can apply now and probably be in cause I am female. Frederick county which is the county i volunteer in ya gotta be 19 1/2 by end of recruit school and they have a CPAT test. Big fitness test. Loudound takes if you are gonna be 18 by end of recruit which is where i applied. They say you gotta be 18 to apply, but 2 of my friends applied and they will be 18 by end. Loudoun is newer so they are looking for people to do the job. All the other counties i;m around i'm not sure.

yeah i got it through my cadet class from school. It was basically a school class the whole year. I got EMT-B, hazmat ops, rescue tech, fire 1 & 2 from it. But that dont matter cause Loudoun is VA and i'm MD plus they teach you "their way"

I haven't heard anything from em yet. And if I don't I will just re-apply next class that comes around. They always run 2 classes so I am hoping to catch the 2nd one. The guys that train them train the Washington Redskins so I know i got some fun in for me haha.

Nice. I have been a Vol. for a lil over a year. Applied to Loudoun County to become a paid ff. I have to go through recruit school n all that fun stuff first though. Stay safe out there!

I'm pretty good. Gotta babysit a 2 yr old tomorrow then have ambo duty. Fun! haha I will probably sit there for 4 hrs n do nothing. How long have you been a paid FF?
